o_o

I have my own secrets and you have your own secluded knowledge that should remain hidden from others. Even from the people closest to you. I understand that and I know it very well. But for some circumstances and with too much desperation to see a movie, I have invaded your privacy. And for this, I am very sorry.

DOs and DONTs

I’ve been in Outland Adventure Camp last 2006 and I am very excited to go there again. Outland Adventure Camp which is located in Diversion Road, Ma-a, Davao City, is actually a rope course where you may experience the low and high elemental challenges that are made for you to conquer your fear, challenge yourself, made a difference with your life and realize that life is indeed a great adventure when God is with you.

The Outland Adventure Camp invited us last January 27, 2008 to join their Staff Training. I am very much interested with the offer, so I grabbed it without hesitation.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been attending the training. We have to undergo a training and series of activities that may help us with our soon-to-be jobs.  The OA staffs have to choose the most efficient trainee in the field and I was luckily one of the ‘chosen one’ whom they consider would fit the job.

As a volunteer staff, we should…

  1. …be FAST. An acronym for Faithful, Available, Submissive, and Teachable.
  2. …be dedicated to our job.
  3. …allot our spare time for the organization.
  4. …meet every Saturday for our meetings at exactly 7 am.
  5. …never say bad and dirty words.
  6. …be responsible enough that we know when our participants are safe and not.
  7. Work start at 8:00 a.m and ends at 5:00 p.m.
  8. And above all, we should keep in mind that we are volunteers for God and we are doing everything for Him and for the people we served and further render our service.

Research Proposal Project(not final)

TITLE
The title of my project is:
“Jargons and Colloquial words and expressions in UP Mindanao”
The problems this project will address are as follow:
  • What are the jargons or colloquial words that are commonly used by the students of UP Mindanao?
  • What do they mean?
  • What are their significance?
  • Why do students use such words?
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY:
Colloquials are often referred as informal conversation that are sometimes not accepted by many and not standard. They may mean differently and they may have several meanings that are commonly when conversing with a friends , acquaintances or with the people who share the same type and group. These words are also referred as jargons and gutter languages.
The researcher would like to examine systematically the jargons or colloquial words and that are commonly used by the students in the University of the Philippines in Mindanao. This is for the researcher to discover and interpret this kind of behavior and relate it to a communication theory in the further study.
This research proposal topic was due to curiosity, interest, and intuition.

SIGNIFICANCE:

The goal of this project is:

  • To be able to relate it to Interpersonal communication.
  • To be able collect a new set of words that is purely jargons.
  • To know what they mean and why they are used.
  • To provide a vivid explanation of the nature of the human behavior.
  • To provide the readers a new set of information regarding the subject matter.
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
The research would present a list of probable colloquial words and expressions that are used by the students. It will also discuss their meanings and their significance to those who are inclined to use these words and expressions. An analysis that is related to human’s communication activity may also be presented.
The specified population would be a population number from the first year upto the fourth year students of the university.
